Biography:
Benard is an MSM from the LGBTI community, persons affected by punitive laws, regulations and policies, severely stigmatized and marginalized, and are disproportionately affected by HIV, to date,. he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, diploma in Social Development. 2020 Mobilized Economic Empowerment Funds for Key populations during and Post COVID-19. 2018 mobilized 2millionUSD for the LGBTI community from Elton John Foundation supported by UNAIDS, Now on several Technical Working Group which includes Male Involvement, Uganda AIDS Commission, MOH, National Reproductive Health Cluster, most at Risk Populations Network (MARPS), Menstrual Hygiene Management, HIV and Gender-Ministry of Education, Key population- UNAIDS; 2013, Trained and acquired knowledge and skills from as a peer to peer management by Most at Risk Populations Initiative (MAPI), Mulago Hospital; 2012 Joined LGBTI community Movement under Spectrum Uganda an MSM organization for 3 years; later 2011 stablished Vijana Na Children Foundation (Vinacef)Uganda on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and as Secretary General; 2011, Child Protection Policy by Watoto Church; 2010 Volunteer Internship, Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) Peer Educator advocating for key populations unmet Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights friendly services; 2010, Interpersonal Communication for Reproductive Health by Programme for Accessible Health Communication and Education (PACE); 2009-2010 achieved a Diploma in Social Development from Nsamizi Institute of Social Development; 2009 Nominated Volunteer by Uganda Red Cross Society Management to support Office of the Secretary General for technical coordination and Partnerships support; 2009 Practical Commercial Skills Youth Camp Training, by Uganda Red Cross in Entebbe Branch; 2008, Community Based Standard First Aid Training by Uganda Red Cross, Kampala East Branch; 2006, Basic Theory and Practical First Aid Training by Uganda Red Cross, West Branch.
