Title : Comparison between conventional endotracheal tubes and polymer-coated tubes in the development of ventilator-associated pneumonia: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract:
This meta-analysis aims to verify the efficacy of conventional endotracheal tubes (PVC) and polymer-coated tubes in combating ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in patients ventilated for more than 48 hours. Thus, after observing the statistical graphs, we found that the coated tubes had a better result than the conventional ones: less bacterial colonization, fewer patients with pneumonia and the number of deaths fell.
