Biography:
Dr. Báez earned his medical degree with honors from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (1998). He completed a Master’s in Public Health and Health Management and Policy at the New York Medical College as well as a Fellowship in Clinical Research and Epidemiology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center (2001). He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, followed by a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He graduated with a PhD in Translational Medicine with honors from the University of Barcelona (2022). Currently, he is a professor of Emergency Medicine and Epidemiology and serves as Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development at VA Augusta Health Care System.
