Biography:
Dr. Buenafe studied Life Sciences at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines and proceeded to medical school in 2012. After graduating in 2016, she pursued further specialization and is now an adult infectious disease fellow-in-training at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. Currently she is working on research involving HIV genomic sequencing. Other areas of interest include snake envenomation, re- emerging infectious diseases such as monkey pox, and drug-resistant tuberculosis.
