Biography:
Dr. Leana Rich Herrera-Ong graduated with a degree of PhD in Biochemistry in June 2018. As a young scientist, Dr. Herrera-Ong finds interest and enjoyment in the field of computational biochemistry, particularly in the area of reverse vaccinology. She is currently doing studies on the applications of immunoinformatics in vaccines and immunotherapeutic agents against cancers and infectious diseases. Since it has become her research interest during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she has sole-authored and published several research articles in Scopus-indexed journals. Dr. Leana is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, College of Medicine, University of the Philippines Manila.
