Microbial adhesion capacity on orthopedic implants

Title : Microbial adhesion capacity on orthopedic implants

Abstract:

The application of orthopedic implants in our body is associated with the possibility of infection. To have the infections under control interactions between microorganisms and implant surfaces needs to be understood. Therefore, in this presentation we consider the microbial adhesion capacity of S. aureus on the implant surfaces modified by coatings. The surfaces are characterized by roughness, hydrophobicity, morphology, texture and electric potential measurements. Finally, the influence of different implant surface coatings on bacterial adhesion extent will be discussed [1].
