Other pathogenic strains include enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) and enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC), associated with inflammatory diarrhea. Diagnosis involves stool culture and molecular methods to identify specific virulence factors. Treatment often includes supportive care, hydration, and, in severe cases, antibiotics. Preventive measures focus on food safety practices, proper hygiene, and avoiding consumption of contaminated water or undercooked foods.
